Promises - “The Church We’re Meant to Be”
Have you ever seen the children’s game where you fold your hands and say, this is the church and this is the steeple, open your hands and see all the people,? Well this is heresy, Church is Not a Place, It's a People. When Jesus said that he would build his church it wasn’t a building it was a movement of people called together to be the hope of the world.
Some how through the ages we have gotten off track. We have come to believe that church was the building. It never has been.
The church doesn’t exists for you or me. The church exist to bring glory to God. Jesus calls us his bride. We are loved individually and collectively by God as His church. Here are some truths…
● The church is not a building—it’s a body.
● Jesus didn’t die to create consumers; He died to create community.
● If we are going to be the church that reaches the world, we must first be the church that reflects Jesus.
